Pacman Turns 30!

I haven't been around in a while, and I know everyone is totally excited about playing Red Dead Redemption, but I'm not here to talk about that. I'm here to mention Google's current Doodle...It's PACMAN! It's an interactive game (their first one!) and here's the best thing...if you click the "Insert Coin" option twice (once to play again) you get a two player game with Miss Pacman on the W-A-S-D pad!!!! ^___^


However, now we can talk about Red Dead Redemption. I haven't got it yet. Is it really good?

Fallout New Vegas Collectors Edition.

Black Ops Wii Release

Just to let the Nintendo-ers know, Call Of Duty Black Ops is coming to the PS3, 360 and the Wii.

BFBC2 DLC

So a DLC pack has been announced for the Xbox 360 and Ps3 versions of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and has maps including Valparaiso, Atacama Desert, Isla Inocentes, and Nelson Bay with new vehicle placements. The DLC also adds the interesting prospect of different times of day, and set objectives.

Apparently, then, no PC version? Well DICE associate producer Barrie Tingle explains "The problem we have on PC is that all our servers are dedicated with providers."
As a result, Tingle says that changing a 32-player Conquest server into a 4-player Onslaught server adds up to a net loss of 28 player slots.
Our PC-ers aren't totally going to miss out, hopefully, with DICE saying they aren't totally "ruling out" the PC version, just having trouble with it.

So despite it being said recently that LBP2 was never going to happen, Media Molecule went ahaead and tweeted that "full mega details" of Little Big Planet 2 were going to be announced on Monday.

- BFBC2 to get tweaks over some really annoying things online.

- I dunno if it's still running, but someone has to get me the Iron Man playstation home suit!! Haha!

Fallout: New Vegas

So Obsidian have taken the reigns in developing the Fallout story that we all know I love. They've added to the recipe double the weapons we packed on the Capital Wasteland trail, they've added locations such as the Hoover Dam (it is set in Nevada and the Mojave desert) and the mindblowing Helios One, a striking and obviously deliberate near replica of The Solar Project.
The VATS has been upgraded slightly, and the companion commands has been changed to everything you wanted to do on Fallout 3 (except shout at them for stealing your XP, presumably), even down to being able to command non permanent companions and NPCs with and interface dubbed "The Companion Wheel". The Karma is back, but as is a reputation system similar to Fallout 2 (I couldn't really get far in that game...).
And for fans of the M4 Sopmod (me! me!) you'll be happy to learn that a similar gun, currently named the "military assault rifle" has been added to your arsenal of several old-but-awesome weapons, as well as several other, lower power guns - a pistol with an embossed mother mary, for example - and something called a Grenade Machine Gun, which imaginably does exactly what the name implies.
As for the Sopmod part, guns in New Vegas come with only up to three customizations: scope, R.O.F. (rate of fire) and magazine size.

This is my favourite thing, though. HARDCORE MODE.
No, it's not just a step up from Very Hard like most games.
When Hardcore Mode is active, health becomes a concern. Stimpaks only assist over time, and you can't heal your crippled limbs with the simple application of one - you need a high medicine skill and a Doctors Bag, or else you need to get your ass to the doc's.
You must drink water - I imagine, irradiated or not - to dodge dehydration, ammo will have an assigned weight, and enemies will take the required step towards being fitting of the term "hardcore".

If you've seen the screenshots, your mind would be blown too.

PSP bites

- So Metal Gear Solid:Peace Walker videos are up on the internet (it is out in Japan), and on one of them, it shows you can take photographs of a character in a bikini...she runs away! Ha ha ha!

- It has been confirmed that Kratos will be returning in God of War: Ghost of Sparta on the PSP.
SCEA PR MANAGER: "...As for the storyline, this new adventure will serve as a prequel of sorts, picking up where God of War left off. Ghost of Sparta tells the story of Kratos’ ascension to power as the God of War. In his quest to rid the nightmares that haunt him, Kratos must face his dark past to prove his worthiness to the Gods — a journey that will reveal the origins of lost worlds and finally answer long-awaited questions about Kratos’ tattoo, scar, and family."
(I'd like to think it means his brother from GOW I credits).

Call Of Duty: Black Ops

Ok...So I REALLY don't know how to describe this, but check out this video:



how awesome is that?? Don't you just want to fire an m14 into the arses of those VietCong militia? The helicopter gameplay - fuck, everything so far - looks excellent!

I know some people pull the ":/" face when you say Treyarch, but have you tried to storm the Reichstag on CoD: World At War? Out of us, only Ally did it, and that was a well-earned platinum! (He didnt even need a Gamer razor* for it, the trophy was enough. )

Apparently theres been some smart folk murmering something about the main character being in hospital, or a lab, reliving his memories. Made me think of Metallica's song, One.
"I can't remember anything / Can't tell if this is true or dream / Deep down inside I feel to scream / This terrible silence stops me"
Although rather than his silence being stopped, theeres mention of "something to assist", and it's in a rather menacing voice.

Anyway, it's looking good so far. If you didn't catch the ending, it's due date is apparently 11.9.10.
